Arcade Fire are performing at the 2020 edition of Krewe du Kanaval, the New Orleans festival that the band’s Win Butler and Régine Chassagne co-founded with Ben Jaffe of Preservation Hall Jazz Band. They’ll headline the festival’s Kanaval Ball on February 14 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. This year’s lineup also features the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jillionaire, Pierre Kwenders, and more. Check out the poster below.

The first Krewe du Kanaval took place in 2018. Prior to the inaugural event, Butler and Chassagne recorded a theme song called “Ann Ale! (Let’s Go!).” This year, they featured on the Haitian music collective Lakou Mizik and New Orleans crew 79rs Gang’s “Iko Kreyòl.”

The theme for Krewe du Kanaval 2020 is “Merci Haiti.” In a statement, Chassagne said, “Krewe du Kanaval was created to honor New Orleans’ creole culture with its Haitian and Caribbean roots—a piece of this city’s history that is very important to me.” She continued, “Our Krewe hopes to join the amazing people of New Orleans carrying this torch and carve a place in the Carnival tradition to explicitly pay tribute to these roots.”
